Facilities Buyer sell a complete range of fire exit signs, including EC Directive Fire Signs, British Standard Fire Exit Signs, Hospital & Health Services Signs, Refuge Point Signs, Assembly point signs, Safe condition signs, Fire Action Notices and Fire Door signs. These are available as either standard or photoluminescent signage in either self-adhesive or rigid plastic material and come in a range of sizes. We also stock suspended fire exit signs, and illuminated fire exit signs for areas where standard wall signage is not sufficient.

Legislation for safety signs can be found within the Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996. We have also put together a PDFguide for correct implementation of fire signs within your organisation – click here to view.

Fire Exit Signs are available in EC, British Standard and Hospital & Health Services Signs. The difference between these and deciding which would be best for you would depend on the type of business you work for. All are covered within the legislation, although the Heath & Safety Regulations 1996 implement the European Safety Signs Directive (92/58/EEC), as these have been designed to standardise safety signage across Europe, and ensure that with the free movement of labour, the safety signs are not misunderstood.  If you would like help or information relating to choosing the correct safety signs for you, please do give us a call and we will advise you.

We are able to offer you a free site survey to ensure that you are supplied with signage appropriate for the current legislation.  Within commercial buildings, a Fire Exit sign must be on display within any room or corridor with more than one exit or entrance.  How many are required will depend upon the size and layout of your building.

Signage that workS in conjunction with the above include refuge point fire signs.

Refuge point signs are used to indicate where anyone with a physical disability should assemble in case of an emergency. This will ensure safe exit practises can be used.

Fire action signs should be displayed in all communal areas to ensure that staff are aware of the correct procedure in the event of an emergency.
